Ethics and Integrity

We respect and comply strictly with legislation and regulations, conducting our business according to strong ethical standards, with exemplary behaviour in our relationships with our people, customers, suppliers, partners and the community. 

This is why our companies are committed, in the course of their business, to preventing and combating acts that do not comply with current legislation, in particular those that may constitute the perpetration of crimes of corruption and related offences (specifically those outlined in Decree-Law no. 109-E/2021 of December 09), which represent an obstacle to the fundamental values, reputation and prestige of our companies and to the stability of the markets.

Decree-Law no. 109-E/2021, of December 09, created the National Anti-Corruption Mechanism (hereinafter referred to as ‘MENAC’) and approved the General Regime for the Prevention of Corruption (hereinafter referred to as ‘GRPC’), determining, among other things, that companies based in Portugal that employ 50 or more people must adopt and implement a programme of regulatory compliance.

Some of the companies in the Apolónia Supermercados Group are therefore considered to be organisations covered by Decree-Law no. 109-E/2021, of December 09, which is why a programme of regulatory compliance has been adopted for the entire Group, which includes, among other things:

The introduction of this programme aims to ensure that all Apolónia Supermercados Group companies comply with the highest ethical standards, building relationships of trust and transparency with all interested parties, including their employees and business partners.
