Recycling – Which packaging goes where
Examples:
- Plastic (water or juice bottles, packaging for cooking oils, cosmetics, detergents, hygiene product packaging, takeaway packaging, cartons);
- Liquid food packaging (for milk, juice, soup and purée, etc.);
- Metal (Beverage cans, tin cans, spray cans, shaving foams).
Packaging should be disposed of in the yellow bin with its contents removed, such as leftover food or drink, and flattened out so that it takes up as little space as possible. They do not need to be washed before being placed in the recycling bin.
- Tupperware-type boxes, toothbrushes, battery waste, electrical and electronic equipment waste, metal tape measures or coffee capsules.
Examples:
Paper/cardboard packaging that is too greasy should not be placed in the blue bin, such as boxes for transporting birthday cakes or pizza.
Examples:
- Wine, beer and juice bottles, fruit jars, creams and other glass containers.
- Separate lids and tops, which should be placed in the yellow recycling bin.
- Packaging should be disposed of in the green bin with its contents removed.
Check the packaging label. Some packaging is labelled with disposal rules.
Use these rules for all plastic or cardboard packaging that houses the product.
