Empty CartPuff Pastry and Apple Roses
- Duration: 50 min
- Amount: 8 People
Ingredients
- 1 Pk puff pastry
- 2 Apples
- Juice of 1/2 lemon
- Ground cinnamon, icing sugar and jam of your choice
Method
Without peeling the apples, halve and remove the core. Place with the cut side facing down and thinly slice into half moons. As you slice them, place in a pan of water and lemon juice to prevent from browning. Add the cinnamon sticks and heat until it boils.
Cut the puff pastry into long 5-cm slices.
Spread the jam over the puff pastry and place apple slices on the upper part of the puff pastry strips. Each apple slice should overlap the previous slice, with the top sticking out from the pastry. Sprinkle with cinnamon to taste and fold the lower half of the pastry over the apple slices and roll up until it looks like a flower.
Bake in muffin tins in a pre-heated oven (180ºC) for 20-30 minutes.
Prior to serving, sprinkle with cinnamon or icing sugar to decorate.
