Empty CartBeef in beer stew
- Duration: 90 min
- Amount: 3 People
Ingredients
- 1 bottle of beer (33cl)
- 500g beef stewing steak, cubed
- 1 medium onion or more to taste
- ¼ large red pepper or more to taste
- Leek to taste
- Tomato sauce to taste (optional)
- Spices and seasoning to taste
- Water if needed
Method
Chop the onion, garlic, leek and pepper. Place in the heavy casserole dish with a dash of olive oil and sauté until the onion becomes translucent. Add the meat, previously seasoned, and seal/brown.
Pour over some of the beer, until the meat is covered. If you haven’t seasoned the meat, you can add the seasoning and tomato sauce now.
Leave to gently stew, until the meat is cooked and tender. If needed, add more beer, or a little water.
Before removing from the heat, turn up the flame to thicken and concentrate flavours.
Tips:
You don’t have to stick to exact measurements and you can adjust the sauce and quantities to your taste.
